Airtel, a major telecom operator in India, is giving away a year–long subscription to Perplexity Pro via the Airtel Thanks app for mobile devices.
While it was confirmed by AIM for postpaid subscribers, various users posting on X have reported enjoying the same benefit on prepaid options as well.
To claim the offer, users should navigate to the ‘Rewards and OTTs’ section directly from the Airtel Thanks app‘s homepage.
Perplexity, a US-based AI startup, provides online search services powered by AI technology and competes directly with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
The annual Pro plan, which costs around $200 (approximately ₹17,000), offers advanced search capabilities, including access to powerful models like OpenAI’s o3, Claude 4.0, and xAI’s Grok 4. Users enjoy features like Pro and Reasoning search modes, file analysis, image creation, API credits, and premium support.
Moreover, the Labs feature allows access to cutting-edge tools to oversee challenging projects involving report creation, spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic web applications.
Perplexity can be accessed through the app on Android, iPhone, Windows, and Mac, and is also available via web browsers.
Additionally, Perplexity has a Max plan priced at $200 monthly, granting unlimited access to the platform.
This is the second AI subscription deal presented to Indian users within a short period. On July 15, Google revealed a complimentary one-year subscription to its AI Pro plan for students over 18 in India, a service normally priced at ₹19,500.
This initiative allows students access to its top-tier AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, along with greater use of Google’s AI offerings.
Included in this plan are tools like Deep Research with Gemini 2.5 Pro and NotebookLM, which provide five times the access, in addition to the video generation tool Veo 3 integrated into Gemini and Flow, among other functionalities.
